Changing our World through the Power of Music

The Mission of the the Ashtabula Area Orchestra: Helping people in our community discover the power of music by giving them opportunities to listen and actively engage in learning about orchestral music and playing orchestral music all year long. Our shared vision is to have a world where each and every person on our community, no matter their social or economic status, has access to orchestral music in their lives.

About Us

The Ashtabula Area Orchestra serves a unique purpose in our community. Founded in 1982, we present live orchestral music and provide opportunities for local and regional musicians to perform.  Our orchestra makes very efficient use of our donated funds and work hard to provide the highest quality musical performances and educational events for our community.

Musicians

In Residence at the Lakeside Performing Arts Center in Ashtabula, Ohio, the Ashtabula Area Orchestra attracts musicians from all over Northeast Ohio and Northwestern Pennsylvania. We have regular players join us from as far away as Euclid, Youngstown, Madison, Cleveland Heights, Mentor, Chardon and across the state line in Meadville and Sharon. We welcome musicians from other community, college and high school orchestras. We also invite those of you who used to play back in high school or college, to pick up your instrument again and play with a full symphony orchestra in a fun, low-pressure environment. Need to brush up with some instrumental lessons? Many of our members offer lessons… contact us and we will connect you.
